🎊🎉Congratulations to Aubrey Spivey– the first place 7th grade winner of the local Thomasville DAR chapter American History Essay Contest!🎉🎊
In celebration of the 250th birthday of our country, the United States of America, Aubrey wrote a patriotic essay about Thomas Jefferson. Her essay now goes on to the Southwest Georgia District DAR State Chair of Georgia for consideration.
The Thomasville DAR chapter graciously invited Aubrey, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Spivey, and her teacher Mrs. Shiver to their January meeting to hear Aubrey present her speech. The Scholars Academy appreciates the generosity of the Thomasville chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and their continued support of our students.

Here’s what sets TCS apart:

• Exceptional arts programs, including dance, drama, visual arts, and music
• Expanded athletic opportunities, especially for multi-sport student-athletes
• A unified campus that supports growth across academics, arts, and athletics
Through our Bulldog +1 initiative, students also benefit from expanded real-world learning opportunities made possible through partnerships with local businesses, higher education, and industry leaders including Cleaver-Brooks, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC), Georgia Tech, and many others. These partnerships help students explore future pathways early and build connections that extend beyond the classroom.

🏁🔧 An Exciting Day for Bulldog Innovation! 🔧🏁
Today, Thomasville High School students put their skills to the test during our Advanced Manufacturing Pilot (AMP) Pinewood Derby Car Race, applying engineering, design, and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting. Through our partnership with Georgia Tech, students are gaining exposure to advanced manufacturing concepts that reflect real industry practices and expectations.
Students designed, engineered, built, tested, and raced their derby cars using industry-standard tools, including Fusion design software, CNC machines, and 3D printers—developing skills in precision, data analysis, and iterative design along the way.
A special thank you to the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) manufacturing staff for their assistance and expertise throughout this pilot experience. Their guidance and support played a key role in helping students refine their designs and think like engineers.
Today’s race provided valuable data and feedback, and now our students are ready to make adjustments, improve performance, and prepare for their next challenge. We’re excited to see our Bulldogs compete in two weeks against other advanced manufacturing programs in Bainbridge as they continue this innovative learning experience.
This work is a powerful example of our Bulldog +1 initiative in action, connecting classroom learning to real-world skills, meaningful partnerships, and future career pathways. We’re proud of our students, staff, and partners for creating opportunities that prepare Bulldogs for what’s next.
