Dear Thomasville City Schools Community,
In accordance with newly issued federal guidance, Governor Brian P. Kemp signed Executive Order 3.16.20.01 closing all public elementary, secondary, and post-secondary public schools in Georgia from March 18, 2020 to March 31, 2020. Therefore, Thomasville City Schools will be closed through March 31, 2020. We will continue to monitor and take guidance from local, state and federal agencies as the safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority.

Congratulations to Braxton Sizemore who has been named as a "Finalist" by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Thomasville High Scholars Academy students Caliyah Sinkfield and Carly House are inserting a plasmid (piece of DNA) into bacteria in a pGLO Bacterial Transformation lab in Jamie Gammel’s Advanced Placement Biology class. The plasmid has a gene that makes the bacteria resistant to an antibiotic and a gene that allows it to fluoresce in UV light. The bacteria, by the way, is genetically engineered so it is not pathogenic and cannot grow outside of a lab!

Congratulations to Thomasville High School Senior Max White for being selected by the University of Georgia Foundation Fellowship Selection Committee as a Foundation Fellow for the Class of 2024! #BulldogPride

The AP Night that was scheduled for Monday, February 24th has been cancelled. Students will hear more about AP course offerings at the grade level meetings next week.
